Aug 23, 2013  We're talking Micro here. The Nokia N8 had a SD card and is about the same thickness as a L920. I would say this continues to all the other L92X phones. Looking at the 1020 I really don't see a reason behind it at all. So in my mind they had a choice, either give us 64Gig of space (no reason why they couldn't) or give us a SD slot. Just in case you didn’t know, a Micro SD card is one of the smallest removable flash memory cards available. Designed specifically for mobile phones, it’s about the size of your fingernail. You can store your documents, photos, videos, music, games and even apps on such a card.

When buying a MicroSD card, consider two things: storage capacity and the class on the card. Not all MicroSD cards offer the same speeds and you get better results with higher classes. Class 10, for example, offers a minimum performance of 10 MB per second.

Lumia phones such as the new Lumia 540, Lumia 640, and Lumia 640 XL already come with 8 GB of onboard storage. However, if you want to make the most out of your Lumia and have space for more games and images, opt for a 32GB or 64GB card or even a Micro SD card with a whopping 128GB of memory.

If you take a lot of photos on your Lumia 830 and capture them in DNG format, you’ll need a card with a higher speed to save your photos in quick succession.

Moreover, if you like to play graphic-intensive games such as Asphalt 8: Airborne or Halo: Spartan Strike, then getting a card with high speed and high storage will give you uninterrupted gaming experience.

Instagrammers: Class 4 and Class 6

If you’re an Instagram addict and love sharing your #Lumialove online and record HD videos with your Lumia 730 or Lumia 1520, then the class 4 or the class 6 card would suit your needs.

Moderate user: Class 2

Do you use your Lumia mostly for downloading documents and storing your tunes? A class 2 card would be the most cost effective option for you.
